MAIN-Module
Connectivity
The heart of the SIM-MODULES is the so called MAIN-Module, which is directly connected to the PC. The single AVIONIC- or other MAIN-Modules are then connected to this module (see "Interface").
This module is a powerful interface card, offering the possibility to connect up to
- 64 digital inputs (for switches, pushbuttons ...)
- 64 digital LED outputs
- 8 gray-code-rotary encoders
- 8 custom spare in-/outputs (for future use)
It is possible to connect up to 16 of these versatile interface cards using only one USB/RS232 port - which gives a total number of 2048 digital inputs, 2048 LED outputs and 128 rotary encoders, which should be enough even for larger home cockpit projects. Additionally, up to 16 AVIONIC-Modules can be connected as well.
Power Supply
The MAIN-Module also contains the power supply components needed to provide the necessary current for a maximum of 5 avionic modules. These can therefore be connected using only one single ribbon cable.
